Carotid Course

Program Overview

This series of highly interactive, educational workshops is designed for physicians with a specific interest in the different Endovascular Treatments.

These workshops will be hosted at the CCVI educational facility in Buenos Aires & Mexico City. In some cases, there will also be a one day session at a near by hospital for live cases observation.

The workshop will involve both a theoretical seminar and a hands-on workshop. Each expert presentation will be designed to maximize audience participation.

 

Teaching Methods

Theoretical lectures held by the workshop leaders and practical sessions, with representive cases discussions, simulator sessions, and flow model sessions.

 

Educational Objectives

Each delegate will be provided with the latest information on the Endovascular treatment of Carotid and Lower Limb lesions. The objectives of the program are:

  • Review of various techniques, advantages and limitations of endovascular procedures in each disease  state.
  • Update on latest treatment options and clinical trial/scientific findings; and
  • Importance of learning the potential complications, how to avoid them and also how to manage them.
  • In case of workshops defined as “complications meetings” the participants will be asked to bring their own cases, showing complications they experienced and how they managed it, as well as their learning from the case.

Each participant will be given the opportunity to practice on simulators to learn the procedural steps and techniques in angioplasty and stent deployment.

 

Audience

These highly practical workshops are suitable for those who want to start with the endovascular techniques or want to discuss their early experiences with their peers. The target is indicated for each workshop and should serve as selection criteria for registrations.

Ideal group size of this meeting is 10 physicians (Min. 5 - Max. 10).

 

Duration

The program begins with an interactive session in the afternoon of Day 1. Day 2 and 3 involves the use of case reviews to stimulate discussion, and practical sessions involving the use of bench test models and simulators.

 

Course Fee

$1,000 per person (includes hotel accommodation, dinner, bed & breakfast, airport transfers, lunch and course materials but excludes air travel. Educational grants may be available. Please contact your local Cordis contact person for further information.
